"Women’s Rest Retreats — Inner Wolf Retreat Space

Inner Wolf runs its sound healing retreats out of a rustic property near Mars Hill, about 35 minutes north of Asheville, and unlike most entries here, they’re not locked to one weekend a year. Several women’s-only sessions run through the summer and into fall — three days each, built around sound baths, gentle yoga, cacao ceremony, and a lot of unplugged time by the creek. No 5G, no TVs, just fireflies and gong reverb. Because the calendar rotates instead of locking to one date, check their site directly for the next open session.

I also loved reading this article by Be Well Asheville that details just why Asheville is such a great place for energy healing, and has been for centuries!

Why Asheville Is a Premier Destination for Energy Healing

The Mountain Healing Effect

Asheville’s location in the Blue Ridge Mountains isn’t just beautiful—it’s therapeutically significant. The clean mountain air, abundant negative ions from waterfalls and forests, and reduced electromagnetic pollution create an environment that naturally supports healing. Indigenous peoples recognized this area’s healing power long before Asheville became a city, and that energetic quality remains palpable today.

A Rich Wellness Community

As I noted earlier, what makes energy healing in Asheville special is the depth and diversity of its wellness community. The city attracts highly trained practitioners from around the world, many with decades of experience and certifications from prestigious schools such as Daoist Traditions (Traditional Chinese Medical Arts College) and Ayurpana (Ayurvedic Institute, Asheville Yoga Center, SoHumHealing Resort, The Listening Room), both recognized globally for excellence in healing and wellness.

This concentration of talent means you have access to practitioners skilled in traditional modalities like acupuncture and Reiki, as well as newer approaches like biofield tuning and quantum healing. You’ll also find practitioners who blend multiple techniques, creating personalized sessions tailored to your specific needs.

Integrative Healthcare Approach

Many Asheville holistic healing centers work collaboratively with conventional medical providers. This integrative approach ensures you receive coordinated care that addresses all aspects of your health. Some facilities, like the Center for Inner Healing, offer both licensed therapeutic services and energy healing under one roof, making it easy to access comprehensive care.

David discovered the healing vibration of Gongs in 2012 after a powerful spontaneous Kundalini Awakening and has ever since been drawn to Self-Discovery by Knowing Thy-Self. Convinced that the stars are inside of us, he uses sound and evolutionary astrology to discover who we are and why we are here finding our souls purpose on earth. Since 2015, David has dedicated his life to Self-Discovery using astrology and sound alchemy though blending unique sounds with instruments including many gongs, crystal bowls, and other abstract sounding pieces creating a abstract symphony of sound overtones to create a healing restorative experience.

Dawn Sagonias

Sound Healing Sessions, Retreat Leader,

Dawn grew up in the Asheville area studying and playing music, then studied biology and the brain to naturally lead her to seek out how to use music to help the brain and body. After practicing massage therapy for 22 years (& massaging about 20,000 bodies!) and working in hospitality, Dawn met the gong through studying yoga and meditation. She loves utilizing the gong to help bring the brain to the theta brainwave state, facilitating a nurturing, loving environment for your body, mind, and spirit to heal and find support.

Dawn also offers sessions at her smaller sound studio, the Sound Nest, in Alexander, NC 20 minutes outside of Asheville.
