About the event
A Quiet Day: A Day Retreat for Rest, Spaciousness & Renewal
Saturday, December 5
December has a way of filling itself.
Calendars become crowded. Expectations grow. There are gifts to find, meals to prepare, people to see, traditions to uphold, and countless small things asking for our attention.
Before all of that gathers momentum, come spend one quiet day doing something different.
A Quiet Day is a restorative winter retreat designed to help you step out of the seasonal rush and return to a slower rhythm.
Everything in this day is for you to enjoy, not accomplish.
You do not need to make a list, set a goal, improve yourself or use the day productively.
Instead, we will make space.
Space to breathe.
Space to wander outside and notice what the natural world is doing as autumn gives way to winter.
Space to eat slowly.
Space to lie down.
Space to listen.
Space to simply be.
The day will include gentle embodied unwinding, a nature-based Gathering & Release ritual, a nourishing lunch, unstructured rest, deeply restorative Yoga Nidra, and an extended sound healing journey.
Our outdoor ritual will invite you to notice both what you want to carry with you into the winter season and what you may be ready to set down.
Later, Yoga Nidra will guide the body toward profound rest while remaining gently aware, followed by an immersive sound healing session where there is nothing left to do but receive.
Think of this day as a small clearing in the middle of December.
A place where nothing is needed from you.
A place to soften before the season becomes busy.
A place to remember that quiet is not empty.
Sometimes quiet is where we can finally hear ourselves again.
Saturday, December 5 — A Quiet Day
10:00–10:30 | Arrival + Making Space
Warm tea, settling in and a gentle opening reflection:
What would I like to make less room for this season — and what deserves more?
10:30–11:15 | Winter Grounding Practice
Slow floor-based movement, breath and sensory awareness designed to help the body settle and transition from the busyness outside into the quieter pace of the retreat.
11:15–12:15 | Gathering & Release: A Winter Nature Ritual
A contemplative walk through the property, noticing the landscape as it moves toward winter.
Guests will gather two natural objects: one representing something they want to carry into the coming season, and another representing something they are ready to leave behind.
We’ll return the release object to the land and keep the other as a small reminder of the day.
12:15–1:15 | Nourishing Seasonal Lunch
A warm, leisurely meal shared together without rushing into the next activity.
1:15–1:45 | The Quiet Half Hour
No instructions.
Read. Journal. Walk. Rest. Look at the water. Sit by the fire if appropriate. Drink tea.
Or simply do nothing.
1:45–2:30 | Yoga Nidra: Rest Beneath the Noise
A deeply restful guided practice centered around stillness, spaciousness and the experience of being supported without needing to do anything in return.
2:30–2:45 | Tea + Quiet Transition
2:45–3:45 | Sound Healing Journey
A 60-minute immersive sound healing session — an opportunity to lie down, receive and allow sound to become the final transition from activity into stillness.
3:45–4:15 | Closing: What Deserves Space?
A gentle integration circle and closing reflection:
What deserves more room in my life this winter?
Overnight rooms available to linger longer!
