About the event

Yin Yoga with Gongs combines the gentle and introspective practice of Yin Yoga with the transformative and meditative sounds of gongs.

Barb Brejot and David Heiss take you on a journey into deep relaxation and vibrational bliss.

In Yin Yoga, poses are held for an extended period, typically 3 to 5 minutes, targeting the connective tissues and promoting flexibility. This slow and passive practice encourages deep relaxation and the release of tension.

Integrating gongs into the practice adds a unique dimension. Gong sounds are known for their therapeutic effects, inducing a state of deep meditation and promoting energetic healing. The vibrations from the gongs can enhance the meditative qualities of Yin Yoga, creating a harmonious and immersive experience. The combination of yin poses and the resonating tones of gongs can facilitate a profound sense of relaxation, balance, and inner awareness.

Some benefits of this enhanced practice include

  1. Deep Relaxation: The slow, passive nature of Yin Yoga combined with the resonating tones of gongs induces a profound state of relaxation. The vibrations from the gongs can help release tension and promote a sense of calmness.
  2. Enhanced Meditation: The meditative qualities of both Yin Yoga and gongs complement each other, fostering a deeper state of meditation. The sound vibrations can assist in quieting the mind, making it easier to enter a contemplative and mindful state.
  3. Stress Reduction: The combination of gentle yin poses and the soothing sounds of gongs has the potential to reduce stress and anxiety. This dual approach targets both the physical and mental aspects of stress, promoting overall well-being.
  4. Energetic Balance: Gongs are believed to have energetic and vibrational healing properties. Integrating them into Yin Yoga can help balance the body's energy and release blockages, promoting a sense of harmony and flow.
  5. Increased Flexibility and Joint Mobility: Yin Yoga naturally enhances flexibility by targeting connective tissues. The addition of gongs may amplify the relaxation response, allowing for a deeper release of tension in the joints and promoting improved mobility.
  6. Emotional Release: The combination of yin poses and gong vibrations can facilitate the release of stored emotions and tension, providing a cathartic experience and promoting emotional well-being.
  7. Enhanced Body Awareness: Practicing Yin Yoga with gongs encourages a heightened awareness of the body, breath, and sensations. This increased awareness can contribute to a more profound mind-body connection.
  8. Cultivation of Mindfulness: Both Yin Yoga and gongs encourage a mindful approach to the present moment. The integration of these practices can deepen mindfulness, promoting a greater sense of inner peace and presence.

About Barbara Brejot

Barbara discovered her practice of yoga over twenty years ago, and immersed deeply in 2010. Wanting to learn not only the postures, but the true lineage, philosophy, traditions, and ancient teachings, her desire for information grew.   She acquired her 500 E-RYT with Yoga Alliance and have certifications in Hatha, Yin, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.   She  is also a certified Sound Therapist. So you can expect her classes to include a gentle grounding to start with a sweet warm up, a soft flow  sequence, and perhaps some poetry, guided imagery, yoga nidra, and a lovely sound bath with gong, Tibetan bowls, crystal chalices and bowl, koshi chimes, & tuning fork. She also offers eye pillows and essential oils to use during your practice.

"Yoga is for every single person of every background, gender, size, and age.  It doesn’t matter when you start your practice, it only matters that you begin. Join me, as your guide, to find your own personal practice."  In Joy, Barb Brejot

About David Heiss

Co-Owner of the Inner Wolf, David Heiss specializes in sound alchemy though blending unique sounds with instruments including many gongs crystal  bowls, and other abstract sounding pieces. He has been working with sound since 2012. Being an Evolutionary Astrologer, his intention is to create a space through sound to realize more of who you are. He offers sound healing sessions, workshops and co-collaborations with other amazing facilitators like this one with Barb.

“Sound waves permeate your entire being and get into stuck areas that we ourselves are not aware of. Sound has the potential to shake up and move stuck energies that seem to plague us without our noticing and restore us to our own natural vibration.  The pure sound frequencies do most of the work. Once your energy is restored, it is up to you to make the difference last.”  David Heiss
